EROS STUDY: HOLE COMING SOON (SEPT, 2025)

EROS STUDY: Issue 01 is a hybrid fetish magazine and art book collecting the work of 20 contributors across performance, photography, theory, and kink.

This inaugural issue dives into holes—glorious and inglorious alike. Holes that gape, swallow, whisper, or leak. Holes as the sites of touch and trauma, of shame and ecstasy, of disappearance and rebirth. From the cavities of the body to the burrows of the earth, this issue invites you to move beyond the edge, and linger with the hole.

Cy X is a writer/researcher, sculpture-artist, somatic practitioner, and performance-maker, born under Southern-American skies to farmers, witches, educators, and musicians. They now live between New York City and Germany as they complete a Performance Art and Performative Practice Masters at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremberg.

They work within a PERVERTED PRACTICE, reclaiming eroticism and critical perversion as more than rebellions against social norms but rather as a method of systemic intervention. Through their work they hope to confront the ongoing, insidious processes that deny creative choreographies, somatic liberation, more-than-human intimacies, and embodied wisdoms.

When we delve into the erotic, we connect to something deeper and ungovernable within us—a power rooted in autonomy, presence, and joy—that refuses to be subjugated or silenced.

They  have previously been a resident and/or had work featured in: Center for Art Research and Alliances, Culture Hub, New Inc’s Creative Science track (Year 11), Pioneer Works, The Processing Foundation, POWRPLNT, The School for Poetic Computation, Rewire Festival, and other spaces, both digital and physical.

They are also the co-founder of Synth Library NYC, an electronic music equipment and synthesizer library currently in residency at Hex House (Brooklyn, NY).
