Cy X is a writer, audiovisual artist, and performance artist exploring the intricate dance between eroticism and space. Their work delves into how these realms co-construct and redefine each other, blurring boundaries to uncover new possibilities.
They’re fascinated by the architectural and spiritual manifestations of the erotic, from the materiality of glory holes and sex cinemas to the psychological imprints of erotic horror and stigmata. Their ongoing research is a journey into these shadowy spaces, inviting reflection on intimacy, power, and desire. Currently, Cy is launching Eros Study: Holes, an experimental fetish magazine and polyvocal collection of musings and archival ephemera.
They are a current Y11 member in New Inc’s Creative Science track. They have previously been a resident and/or had work featured in: Center for Art Research and Alliances, Culture Hub, Pioneer Works, The Processing Foundation, POWRPLNT, The School for Poetic Computation, Rewire Festival, and other spaces, both digital and physical.
